Family photography: Family photographs are the best memoirs for a lifetime! If it’s anything that’s valued by time besides wine—it’s a family photograph! A family photograph freezes the most precious moments of our lives and gives us a chance to rediscover them at a later point. It’s for the same reason we should take utmost care while snapping the very precious moments—say, a growing kid, birthday, wedding, vacations, intimate moments so on and so forth. Personally being a connoisseur of photography, I collected some of the best family photographs from across the world. These could stand as a benchmark for your family photographs or provide you the cues of how an outstanding family photograph should be. So, here I present those outstanding family photographs—feast your eyes!

Family photography

Yes, article is not politically correct. Need some yellow, black and blue skinned objects to appreciate family photography. LOL!!!!!!
Thought this was about photography not race???? come on people
Thank you for sharing the above images. It certainly covers a wide range of styles and ideas which is appreciated.
These photos are NOT about race, they’re about family. Some people need to get off their soap box and start thinking in positive ways. For goodness sake stop with the negative feedback. Not everything has to be all inclusive!!! GREAT PHOTOS!!! And so what they’re white?
Yes Simon these families are beautiful and the poses are unique. BUT failing to recognize diversity is a mistake. We live in a world of diversity why not feature that in “family” photos?
I viewed the pictures and thought the were wonderful. The poses and the angles were great! I could see the happiness in all the families faces. Why would someone turn that into something as ugly as a racial thing. One day maybe we will all be able to look at people and just see people (no color at all).
Love these family pictures! As a beginning photographer I certainly learned about the poses, the colours of the clothes and the fun the families had… thank you!
The poses and clothing looks good, your other lists on your website seems fantastic. I really dont understand the reason why people are bothered about white and black. Just that the color and pose looks great I find the images to be great. I also think black people look great too but they are not in the list.
I guess your definition of family only includes the heterosexual kind. Figures.
If this is to be a true collection of family pictures, how about showing other families like gay couples or single parents!
Am I the only one who’s not really impressed? Not a single one of these warranted a second look.
Great post but I agree with most poster. I would’ve liked diversity. I know you all are like “hey it’s not about race, or let’s not see color” But the thing is , If we didn’t look at color (kinda like the writer or this post) we would have more photos of Caucasian families. As a photographer of Color I don’t want to see a learning device that completely ignores my race. Again this was a great post but I would’ve liked to see diversity. Pay attention to race next, don’t say “lets ignore color” as a solution.
Some of these are pretty nice. Most are just deadly bad work. Poor posing (5 heads all in a straight line), boring lighting ( light source directly from the camera position). It speaks to the damage the digital revolution has brought on the portrait photography art form. “Debbie just got a new Nikon. Now she’s a professional. A professional I told ya, a professional.” Really sad.
Coming from a big family, marrying into a big family, growing a big family (4 children), I am just in love with the big family photos. Hehe!
I was inspired by very many of the photos. If I were to dissect the article, the race issues, blah, blah, blah, there will always be something to complain about. Would I enjoy seeing some Indian families, black, red, yellow, orange, what not? Absolutely! But, I am not here to be a critic. I’m here to enjoy what someone took the time to put together, in his way, and from his perspective and he did a great job compiling great photos, colors and poses.
And, on the contrary to some others asking for homosexual families and such, thanks for NOT presenting the immoral as a form of beauty.
I have to agree with Tavi!! We also have a big family (#5 is due in a few weeks!!) and I loved to see how many of these photos featured families with 4+ kids. So often when I am looking for family photo ideas all I can find are poses of families with 2-3 kids. Thanks for the big family inspiration!!
Gosh. I was just enjoying the pictures so much that I forgot to be offended by them.
Gorgeous family photos. thanks
