Dropbox is a technology startup and software product that’s revolutionizing the way people think about and access their files. In particular, dropbox makes it easy to securely share files with other people, sync them across multiple computers, access them from anywhere, and keep them safe.

Dropbox was founded by Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi in 2007, and received seed funding from Y Combinator. Today, Dropbox is well-funded by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners,  Dropbox was launched publicly in September of 2008 and they have attracted over a million users and are growing rapidly. They’ve been featured in the New York Times and on TechCrunch, and have won awards from places like PC Magazine and CNET.

Unlike other sites dropbox is the easiest way to store and share your files online. Besides Dropbox is not complicated interface to learn, Dropbox runs in the background on your desktop. All it has is a tray icon that you click to see a pop-up window with one command for launching the Web site and another for opening an Explorer window to the Dropbox folder installed in your Documents folder.

It Just Works…

It just works!

Dropbox works just like any other folder on your computer, but with a few differences.

Here’s how it works:

1. Drag and drop to move files around, just like you normally would

2. Any files or folders inside Dropbox will get synchronized to Dropbox’s servers and any other computer linked to your account.

3. Green checkmarks will appear on top of your files to let you know that they’re synced and up to date.

1. Any member of a shared folder can add, edit and delete the contents within.

2. Collaborators of your shared folder won’t have access to any of your files outside of that folder.

3. Changes made to a shared folder are instantly sent to every member of that folder.
